Tuesday, September 5th’s Democracy Now! broadcast included a toxic tour of Houston neighborhoods bordering the dozens of petrochemical facilities along the Houston Ship Channel. The shutdown, flooding and start-up of those facilities increased the existing heavy burden of pollution on these communities, also affected by high water and fears of immigrant enforcement in the recovery process.  https://www.democracynow.org/shows/2017/9/5

Last Thursday, DN! spoke with residents on the ground in Port Arthur, Texas, a city overwhelmed by floodwaters and surrounded by numerous industrial plants.
